Charles focuses on protecting employers' rights when faced with Title VII discrimination claims, sexual harassment claims, Department of Labor investigations, and TWC unemployment benefits issues. Charles also defends companies against personal injury claims.

Charles began his legal career as a prosecutor with Galveston County. After several years of representing the citizens of Galveston County and handling hundreds of cases through the judicial system, Charles began an Employment Law practice with Mills Shirley. Since 2004 Charles has assisted employers with simple to complex issues and has defended employers faced with discrimination and harassment claims. In addition to the listed practice areas, Charles also represents employers faced with EEOC complaints, Department of Labor audit/investigations, and Texas Workforce Commission unemployment benefit claims and employee tax audits.
