Employment Law Mediation and Defense
I have been mediating since 2000. In the beginning, I concentrated on employment law because I am board certified in employment law. As time went by, I began mediating all types of cases. Since 1980 (when I was licensed to practice law), I have had the pleasure (or headache) of trying all types of cases, for both plaintiffs and defendants. This background helps me tremendously in my mediations.
Mediating cases is something I love to do. I love working with people and practicing my psychological skills. I even love working with emotions (it must be my Italian heritage). Because conflicts bring out emotions in people, my job as a mediator is to work with those emotions to help the parties find solutions.
The process of mediating problems is fascinating to me. I am trained , not only in the traditional type of Caucas Mediation, but also in Collaborative Mediation. This is a relatively new concept that promotes a Collaborative Process. The parties remain in the same room rather than separating into different rooms, as they do in Caucas Mediation.. The Collaborative Process is being used in family law, divorces and child custody cases. A Collaborative Mediator works with all parties and allows the process to put the children first rather than focusing on the battle between the spouses. This process brings results and is much less expensive that a lengthy court battle.
I am also trained in Family Law Mediations. My goal is to provide solutions for the parties without having an expensive, negative, nasty court battle.
If I mediate a case for you, my only goal is to get the case resolved. Working towards that goal, I will stay and work as long as it takes to achieve a settlement. You won't find me watching the clock or asking you for more money if we go late. You have my promise that I will do the very best I possibly can to help you find a peaceful solution to your problems
