George specializes in appellate, federal civil, insurance coverage, and governmental litigation. He is licensed in both Texas and Hawaii.

George has been Board certified in Civil Appellate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization for 21 years. He has served as lead counsel in over 200 appellate cases, and his record includes many published Texas and federal Circuit decisions. As an appellate attorney, George also provides assistance to Mills Shirley trial counsel and to attorneys in other law firms with state law jurisdictional pleas, special appearances, injunctions, summary judgment motion practice, jury charge, and post-verdict issues.

George has served many times as attorney in charge and local counsel in federal court, and advises other counsel on federal dispositive motions, preparation of the pretrial order and jury charge, and preservation of error. He has several published federal district court decisions arising from a variety of federal civil litigation, including Section 1983, Title VII, ERISA, CERCLA, and insurance coverage disputes.

A significant part of George's practice includes representation of governmental entities and their employees in state and federal court, including litigation defense, land use regulation, and eminent domain. He serves as chief legal officer for a district and has served as a city attorney.

Lead counsel in more than 200 appeals, prosecuted in the Texas Supreme Court, Texas courts of appeals, the United States Supreme Court, and federal courts of appeals. George has presented oral argument in the Texas Supreme Court; the First, Second, Third, Fifth, Seventh, Eighth, Ninth, Thirteenth and Fourteenth Texas courts of appeals; and the Fifth and Eighth Federal Circuits, including the Fifth Circuit en banc.

The appeals have covered a wide range of litigation, including governmental tort claims; personal injury; employment discrimination including Title VII, ADA, Equal Pay Act and ERISA; CERCLA; commercial litigation; professional malpractice; trusts and estate; special appearances; injunctions; default judgments; and writs of habeas corpus. Also lead counsel in original appellate proceedings, including writs of mandamus in discovery, venue, post-judgment, and arbitration cases.

George has previously served as a city attorney and presently serves as General Counsel for Galveston County Consolidated Drainage District, handling property issues and eminent domain cases. He has served as counsel for other municipalities and counties on local and State-funded condemnation matters. George has also been employed as lead attorney in several Texas Open Beaches Act cases in conjunction with the Texas Attorney General's office and the Texas General Land Office, on behalf of coastal communities.

These cases were prosecuted in state and federal trial courts and state and federal courts of appeals.
